Blog assignment 1
Personal aspects of my life that I would like to change:
First of all I would like to develop a deeper understanding for who I really am and my different qualities. By continuing my studies and starting my career combined with working on my other interests it would be possible to make some progress in that area during a period of five years. Ultimately the process would continuing on through my entire life so that if I ever turn eighty-seven I would be able to look back at my life and say that I have taken every opportunity to honour my natural potentials. The worst scenario would be to wake up and realise that I have desperately tried to achieve something that have cost me more then it was worth to succeed. No one knows if we are guaranteed a second chance.
Connected to the wish of developing a deeper understanding of my personality I would also like to get rid of a disease that I have called OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). Hopefully the therapy will work this time and I will be able to have a normal life concerning daily activities and other things that I have had a hard time to do the last seventeen years. I picture this to be possible to achieve. If continuing to practice what I have learn from therapy combined with aiming for my goals in life I would probably have come a long way in five years. Even if I know it will be sneaking up upon me when I last expect it for the rest of my life, I still think I will have the determination to gradually fight for my freedom and bring myself some peace of mind.
Having a positive attitude and combining it with both long-term and short-term goals is one of many ways to work on one's own personal development. It might be a cliché and well known but still writing down explicit goals that are both realistic and self-developing is a good way to work. Regarding the OCD (I have a friend who struggles with it) depending on the situation needs both professional help and hopefully a very patient surrounding.
SvaraRaderaI think that hard work, interest, openness to new paths and people, respect and selfconfidence to life are some important factors in finding joy and love in life.
I find it very interesting that you share things relating to yourself. I believe and hope that the treatment will work and that you in the end will feel great!
SvaraRaderaDear Stina,
SvaraRaderaYou are my random choice. I must say I am impressed. You seem to be a down to earth person. Most of us concentrate on the big world issues, but you primarily focus on yourself and your future and that is primarily the most important thing in order to create a good life. How will any of us be able to rescue the world unless we have been able to learn more about ourselves? But I do not quite understand your fear of “I have desperately tried to achieve something that has cost me more than it was worth to succeed”. What is success? Success is changeable. The most important is not the goal in itself but the journey you made getting there. Everything you do gives you experience and knowledge that will never be a waste.
I’m totally convinced that you will be able to come to terms with your OCD. Search for various ways of dealing with it and I am sure you will find your solution. Somebody once told me: If something has been able to get to you, it will always be possible to get rid of it again.
All the best,
Carina
